Business Problem
Food processors that deal directly with supermarket chains are being forced to use EDI to communicate shipment information (advanced ship notice or ASN), to receive customer forecasts, to receive electronic payment notices (payment advice), and to communicate with 3rd party warehouses that store and ship the food processors product.
With the exception of a few of the larger food processors in Canada, most food processing companies cannot afford to keep large IT departments and therefore are not equipped to handle the modifications required to add the EDI transactions to their systems. If your company is looking to deal with the large grocery chains in Canada, an EDI system will be required.
Business Solution
RMB has successfully implemented an EDI solution for one of the largest meat packers in Western Canada. The EDI solution was interfaced to several different back-end systems to allow the solution to work for all of the company's clients.
